Our friends over at AmericanMuscle.com have been very busy helping us obtain our aftermarket parts while taking a Fox Body project in need of some major tender, love, and care, and slowly turning it into a 1993 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra convertible.
While we just posted about their Stage 1 completion on this little Fox, Stage 2 has been completed with just one stage left to go. Stage 2 of AM’s Foxy build consisted of few modifications that helps the exterior, interior and dash, convertible top, and weatherstripping.
To help the exterior, they kept the stock OE headlights, added black 10th Anniversary Cobra wheels, and replaced the tail light lenses. They installed a Fox body Cowl Vent grille, replacement stainless steel wiper arms, windshield wiper trim moldings and a fixed shorty black 14-inch antenna. They went ahead and installed power mirrors and replaced the black convertible top, rear window glass, convertible top pads, boot, side cables, J-hook latch, latch catch and alignment pin guide kit.
The windshield lower trim moldings were replaced and the AM shop installed all kinds of weather stripping kits for the quarter window, A-pillars, convertible door end cap, ‘vert top headers, side rails, as well as a door reveal molding extension kit.
Tearing into the interior, they restored the black paint and replaced the floor carpet. They installed black arm rest pads on both sides as well as an all-new center console. A leather shifter boot was added, headlight switches with fog lights and an ashtray door repair kit, with all of these products available at AmericanMuscle.com for any Fox Body you may be rebuilding.
Now that the one-off Fox Body Cobra convertible project is well underway and it looks shiny and new, Stage 3 promises some performance upgrades to really back it up. Stay tuned!
