When doing under hood dress-up for your Mustang, often times the one item that is forgotten are the hoses. Hoses for the radiator and coolant can be expensive, especially if you’ve recently replaced them as part of a build. In that same vein, vacuum lines and hoses can also be something tricky to replace as getting the right sizes and lengths is also tricky. The look of just a plain black hose too can detract from a well done engine compartment.
CJ Pony Parts has recently released a video showing an easy and effective way to put that finishing touch on engine compartment dress up, with one of Hose Candy’s Hose Skin Kits, available for every year V-8 Mustang from 1965-2014.
Left: The kits include hose skins, BOA clamps, and sleeves. Right: Installing these onto a hose is a matter of sliding it over the hose and then installing it back on the car with the BOA clamps and sleeves.
The kits include a set of skins, Hose Candy BOA clamps, and sleeves. The 64-69 small block Ford kits also include silicone vacuum hose, connectors, and skins to replace a vehicle’s vacuum lines with higher quality pieces, and dress them up as well.
In the video from CJ Pony Parts, Bill demonstrates how easy the skins are to install on coolant hoses, as well as how the vacuum hose couplers work. The kits are available in a variety of colors to match almost any build or taste. The BOA clamps provide a better seal than a standard worm-gear hose clamp, and the entire kit can add a high end look without the added expense of high dollar hoses.
CJ Pony Parts is working on a follow-up video showing a complete install on a car that should be released soon. Until then check out this one or head over to their site and check out what kit fits your own car.
