Ford is going to play out this GT350 reveal until Monday, 11/17/14. They’ve done a very good job of keeping most of the GT350’s big secrets silent. The latest teaser video is no different.
Ford VP of design, Mark Fields says,” Our history of design has led the way, particularly around our performance vehicles, which ultimately find their way into our production vehicles.” Hinting at race inspired designs. The video spends much of its bulk talking about race cars, and the current Ford production line.
Left: The driver side silhouette. Center: The exhaust pipe, notice what looks like could be carbon fiber in the trim work. Right: We think, this is the hood scoop, and the image has just been turned sideways throw viewers off.
It’s what Ford’s Global Design VP, Moray Callum says that tips us off to the extensive changes to the GT350s appearance, “What’s really exciting about this car is the proportional changes we’ve made, we’ve lowered the hood, we’ve widened the front track, but at the same time, we’ve enhanced the performance as well.”
If you’ll recall a few months back we brought you images of what we suspected was the GT350 testing on the Nurburgring. The car was still heavily camouflaged but we noted the changes that were visible included a new front bumper, a possibly functional hood scoop, new fenders and quarter panels, and a very aggressive front end. Callum’s comments seem to confirm that the majority of those changes are making it to the production car.
Ford ends this video with the GT350 rumbling in a smokey silhouette shot, probably to prevent anyone from enhancing images of the car and getting a preview of what it will look like in the light. There’s one video left before the big reveal on Monday, we have a feeling it will drop tomorrow.
