Winter is nearly over, and many of us are have spent more than a few cold and snowy days dreaming about driving our cars on the street and track. Not to mention the modifications we’ll be carrying out as the spring and summer unfolds.
Last year, Roush Performance released their all new R2300 supercharger for the 2015 Mustang. Out of the box in Phase 1 trim, this kit can propel a stock Mustang GT to 627 hp at the crank. The Phase 1 kit includes a calibration, but up until now that calibration has been for manual transmission equipped Mustangs only.
This week, Roush sent us a teaser video of their 2015 Mustang GT automatic test car, smoking the tires in the parking lot, and wearing a Roush R2300. The company is the final stage of completing their calibration for the new kit on automatic equipped Mustangs.
While many of us love to row our own gears, there are plenty of automatic equipped Mustangs on the street. As much as it pains us to say it, if you’re regularly going to drag race your Mustang, an automatic is often the most consistent way to go as well.
No word on the official release date yet, but the Roush Performance web-site says the automatic calibration should be shipping soon. We can’t wait to see how the R2300 equipped cars do on the drag strip this year.
