Okay, who do we need to hit up for this guy’s job? Supposedly, the lucky driver that was able to take a new GT350R through Goodwood’s Festival of Speed is former Top Gear Stig Ben Collins. Goodwood’s Festival of Speed involves a timed event with some of the most famous and desirable cars and motorcycles in the world. The fact a “Yankee” Ford, which is probably what most in attendance thought of the GT350R, participated is a huge deal. The level of cars that participate in the event is off the charts.

The sound emanating from the GT350R’s exhaust tips is one of the sweetest a Mustang fan has ever heard.
So back to the GT350R. First off, it looks like Collins is having way too much driving the car. In one of the clips we could see on Goodwood’s live feed showed Collins doing a short burnout before taking the car off the grid. We’re sure the race marshals loved that, but we would have done the same thing. Collins had his hands full during the timed event, but the GT350R’s 529-horsepower, 5.2-liter powerplant combined with what looked like street tires, we don’t doubt the car was like trying to wrestle Bigfoot, if he exists.
One thing we know exists is the car’s sweet exhaust tone. We would be hard-pressed to find any other stock Mustang that sounds this good. As a matter of fact, we don’t know of any other stock Mustang, or modified Mustang that sounds this good. The exhaust engineers at Ford have outdone themselves with the GT350R. They deserve a raise.
Speaking of raises, we are going to need a healthy one in order to make a GT350R reside in our garage. How about you?

Former Top Gear Stig Ben Collins gave the “That was crazy” sign after completing the time trial. By the looks of the video, that was a crazy run, with lots of sawing on the wheel.
