Ford continues to improve upon the mix and options on the 2011 Mustang by offering a new performance option on the V6 model and a cool paint color, Yellow Blaze Metallic, for the V6 and Mustang GT. Mustangs with these options are available for order now and will be built in mid-August.
The Yellow Blaze Metallic paint was featured on the 2011 Mustang GT showcar that was unveiled at the Detroit North American International Auto Show back in January. After its debut in Detroit, the Yellow Mustang made the rounds at the major car shows around the country and it appears the color was a big hit. The 2011 Fiesta shares the color with the Mustang so unfortunately it’s not exclusive. The color has that classic candy pearl appearance and should be a real head turner on the street.
For 2011 V6 enthusiasts looking for more performance, Ford will be offering a Performance Package similar to the one offered for the 2011 Mustang GT. Suspension updates includes a strut tower brace, larger front sway bar, SVT rear sway bar and unique front springs.
For improved braking performance the package features unique front and rear calipers with Performance Friction brake pads. For rolling stock the Performance Package V6 is updated with 19″x8.5″ Black Painted Aluminum Wheels and 255/40R19 Pirelli Summer-only tires. This combo is borrowed directly from the Mustang GT package and it will really add some muscle to the already ripped V6.
For more grunt out of the hole, a 3.31 limited slip rear axle is installed, a big improvement over the standard 2.73 ratio. The V6 performance package is ONLY available for the manual transmission coupe, sorry all you convertible and automatically limited drivers.
