When it comes to annual car shows like the 2017 Carlisle Ford Nationals, you’re guaranteed to see some of the coolest stuff that year debut here. In the latest episode of AmericanMuscle.com’s Hot Lap YouTube video series, our friend and video host, Justin Dugan, had the pleasure of meeting some of the Ford fanatics and Mustang enthusiasts attending this year’s event.
Justin and the crew even got a sneak peak at a couple of 2018 Mustang GT models powered by the new, more powerful Coyote 5.0-liter . Starting off in the video, Justin made his rounds to the Shelby booth, where he features the S550 generation of the Shelby Terlingua and the 50th anniversary Shelby Super Snake with its 750-horsepower Coyote engine.

One special car on display at the Cervini’s Auto Designs‘ booth was our own Josh Baker’s 2015 Mustang GT “Project Honey Badger”. Baker’s S550 now sports a nasty twin turbo setup courtesy of Armageddon Turbo Systems (Photo Credit: Josh Baker).
With a few jabs of the throttle, the 2018’s valve controlled exhaust system screamed to life, delivering a delightfully aggressive exhaust note. — Justin Dugan, American Muscle
“With a few jabs of the throttle, the 2018’s valve controlled exhaust system screamed to life, delivering a delightfully aggressive exhaust note,” Justin Dugan said.
Following shortly after was a visit to what was arguably the coolest car on display, which was Joey Logano’s Factory Five Shelby Daytona coupe powered by a Ford Performance 5.2-liter Aluminator XS V8 crate engine, good for more than 500 horsepower naturally aspirated.
“This is one of three Aluminator XS engines currently in existence,” Justin said.
