When your car breaks, the frustration can be all consuming. At that dark moment, you might feel like walking away from it and never looking back. Presented with that crucial juncture, most of us eventually remember the good times and bring our beloved rides back to life. For cartoonist and illustrator Fabrizio De Tommaso, his busted Mustang served as a jumping off point for a rolling canvas for his spray-can art.

“I immediately thought of a flash of light that enveloped the car and exploded from the bonnet, into pure energy. This car has the ability to make us all feel a bit like a superhero,” Fabrizio said.
Having seen success with his art, like paranormal investigator Dylan Dog, in the comics world, Fabrizio debuted his reborn Mustang, dubbed “Fight The Darkness,” at the Lucca Comics and Games convention. Ford of Italy came up with the idea to show the car there, and now the company will find a fixed location to display the car.
