768HP Kenne Bell-Blown Coyote Rocks The Rollers

This Ruby Red 2015 Mustang GT achieves 768 rear-wheel horsepower on a built 5.0-liter engine using a 3.6-liter, water-cooled Kenne Bell supercharger. It’s far from stock, but the build on this Mustang really helps to illustrate the kind of performance the KB system is capable of producing.

The video shows Ricardo Topete, the owner of GTR Performance, detail the build and give some backstory on the KB supercharger system being used on Joshua’s Mustang.

“It’s a fairly new kit that they recently introduced and it’s basically for the customer that has a big blower, wants big boost, and wants huge power,” he explained. “You’re not going to get any belt slippage with a 10-rib drive.”

The 10-rib drive system will really help prevent any kind of slippage on the belt. It's a great feature offered with this Kenne Bell kit.

As Ricardo explained, the kit is fairly new and offers the advantage of water-cooled blower technology and the 10-rib drive belt for maximum grip and no slippage.

He also explained that the drivetrain has been completely built and features more powerful internals to deliver the extra power the car puts out on the dyno and to stand up to the 16 pounds of boost running through it. A stock Mustang GT is nothing to scoff at, but it’s not the powerhouse you see on the dyno in this video.

This Mustang belongs to Joshua Evans and he bought it as a simple Mustang GT premium. No turbo, no supercharger, just a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter engine. Joshua was into musclecars back in the day, but he got married and had kids, so cars went by the wayside. We all know how it goes with a growing family, but once the kids got older he told his wife: “You know what, I’m getting another Mustang.”

He’s definitely a brave man to use words like that, but it worked, and now Joshua has an awesome Mustang.

He drove it stock for a while, but that didn’t last long. Once the stock build started feeling slow, he added a TVS supercharger, but that too felt slow after only a short time. That’s when he decided to go all out and rebuild the drivetrain from the bottom up. That’s when he went forward with the built motor, T-56 Magnum six-speed transmission, a one-piece carbon fiber driveshaft, and an all-new suspension system.

“It’s a night and day difference between having the TVS and having the twin-screw 3.6-liter on a built motor,” Joshua explained. “It’s just phenomenal how this car handles. I’m looking forward to the future to see what we can get out of this 3.6, smaller pulleys, more fuel, more octane — it becomes a race for power.”

For Joshua, what started out as a re-entry point for the muscelcar community, this has become a race for more and more power. As the old adage goes: "No matter what you drop in or bolt on, it'll feel slow in a week." Joshua isn't going to let that stop him and he'll just keep changing and building the get more horsepower, pushing the limits of what his '15 Mustang can do.

We’ll definitely be following this build closely as Joshua continues to modify and improve his car. He’s already taken it from a stock Mustang GT to something of a street machine, so it’ll be really interesting to see where he goes next. With the big Kenne Bell supercharger on board now, the sky is the limit.
