If you love banging through the gears in a manual-trans-equipped Mustang, it’s quite likely you are aware of MGW Shifters. If you want to take that customization even further, MGW is rolling out an expanded line of weighted Gripper shift knobs and flat-stick shift levers. Both allow you customize the look of the shifter, but the different knob weights allow you to further customize the shift feel, whether you want a light shift or more mass to carry the shift momentum.
Available in four different material combinations and weights, the Gripper knobs allow drivers to further customize their shift feel. MGW offers top badges with a number of familiar logos, from Cobra to 5.0 to company logos, like the one shown here from VMP Performance.
These knobs are available constructed from a variety of materials, resulting in different looks and weights. The lightest knob, at 4.5 ounces, is all-billet with an anodized top and an anodized stem. The billet-anodized stem with a stainless top clocks in at 5.5 ounces. The Gripper knob with a stainless stem with a billet anodized top weighs in at 7.8 ounces. The heaviest knob in the Gripper line features a stainless stem and a stainless top. It tips the scale at 8.7 ounces.
