But don’t ask us; check out this video a customer picking up his Mustang GT, which he dropped off with Hennessey to have the 650 horsepower HPE650 package installed.

We get the feeling that the Mustang’s owner is a man of few words, but it’s impossible to hide the smile that gets bigger with the driver’s every shift. Oh and that sound! Hennessey has worked to define their own tone for the Ford Mustang, and despite being in the same horsepower ballpark as the Shelby GT500, the HPE650 Mustang sounds like a beast of a different kind.

That sound is a snarling, snorting, gonna-kill-you-and-everyone-you-love sound, and during the burnout at the end of the video you can see huge chunks of rubber flying off of the tires. The HPE650 package upgrades the Mustang’s fuel and intake system in addition to adding an Eaton TVS2300 supercharger, and custom Hennessey tune. It does not include high-performance rubber, and after a burnout that big, you’re probably going to realize the need for some new skins soon. Pricing requires inquiry to Hennessey so no word on what this package costs a customer. As for the new owner? The smile says it all.
