The Ford SVT Raptor is quite possibly the most capable off-road pickup truck ever built by a major automobile manufacturer. With shocks and a suspension sourced from some of the best-known aftermarket suspension manufacturers in the world, including FOX shocks and a Torsen differential, the Ford SVT Raptor can handle almost anything you throw at it…within reason.

Alas, some people believe themselves to be invincible, along with their vehicles. We think you’ll agree with us when we say though that there was nothing “within reason” about the jump this SVT Raptor makes just before crushing its suspension in a most spectacular way.

The title of the video, “Rednecks with Paychecks Ford Raptor jump”, really says everything there is to say about this video. The driver of the Raptor is going way, way too fast into the jump, catching a whole lotta air. It’s hard to put a number on it, but we’d wager a guess that this Raptor was probably 25 feet or more off the ground at its maximum height.

Now the Ford Raptor is a tough truck, no doubt…but save for purpose-made baja racers, there isn’t a vehicle on the planet that could survive that kind of impact intact. The fact that the Raptor buckled under its own weight, destroying the suspension, isn’t the least bit surprising. Nor is it surprising that the airbags went off; that was a jump of epic proportions. And we certainly won’t be surprised if the insurance claim gets denied once this video gets circulated around the Internet. But were you not entertained?
