The Ford Mustang community is one of the largest and most-connected clubs in the world, encompassing every creed, country, and personality type. The Mustang community has had its share of tragedies, but it is also renowned for coming together in the face of hardship to help fellow members overcome.

When it comes to donating to worthwhile causes and charities, the Mustang community also stands tall. Southeastern Foxbodies, with help from LateModelRestoration.com put together Project Save-A-Fox. Besides turning a shell of a Mustang into a droolworthy raffle ride, these Mustang makers raised money for some great causes.

The project took Southeastern Foxbodies the better part of a year to put together, and they literally started with little more than a shell, as you can see in the photos. But once they teamed up with LateModelRestoration.com, the parts started rolling in. This allowed for the installation of a 351 cubic-inch motor decked out with some top-of-the-line parts, including Trickflow 185 CNC heads, stage 2 camshaft, and intake manifold.

Backing the motor is a Ford Racing Tremec T-5 transmission, an aluminum driveshaft, and a 5-lug SVE conversion with Cobra brakes, and 31-spline axles. Ford Racing also threw in some new 3:73 rear end gears and psoi-traction, along with a Ram clutch and new upholstery (including Fox-specific power seats from 2003-04 Cobras) donated by TMI. 

Save-A-Fox was raffled off at Mustang week earlier this summer, and raised over $18,000 for the three charities involved. The proceeds split between the Juvinle Diabetes Research Foundation, the Victory Junction Gang Camp, and Savannah Drive. It just has to make you feel good when you see the community of people involved with our favorite car coming together for a great cause.
